Denon expands its Blu-ray line with new player that combines great performance with great value

Sydney, November 27, 2009 Denon Electronics, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment components, has introduced a new high-performance Blu-ray product designed to make the full benefits of high-definition video and audio more available and affordable. The company’s new Blu-ray offering is a Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player, the DBP1610 (RRP $999, available now).

The DBP1610 offers customers the benefit of a true high-definition video and audio experience. The highly rigid chassis and centre-drive mechanism ensures total reliability and optimum performance at all times.

For ultimate image quality from regular DVDs, the DBP1610 features up-conversion to 1080p. Adding to its video handling capabilities, it also offers DivX-HD playback and support for AVCHD playback from BD discs made from HD camcorders .

The player also features remote in/out connection for custom installation convenience.

The DBP1610 offers HDMI, Component Video, Composite Video and analogue audio connectors to add to its total flexibility.

Superb CD performance

For those listeners who want to use their Blu-ray player as a step-up CD player, the DBP1610 features a dedicated 2-channel analogue audio output, equipped with high-class Burr-Brown 192kHz/24bit D/A converters and superior analogue components to ensure the high level of sound quality for which Denon is renowned.

Profile 2.0 interactivity

The DBP1610 is geared for use in today’s most advanced integrated home entertainment systems. Among its innovative interactivity features it includes built-in BD Live and Bonus View functionality. For easy connectivity to both a host of current and future entertainment enhancements, the new model features an Ethernet port that allows for Internet connectivity for BD Live and firmware updates.

HD audio bitstream output

Like Denon’s previous Blu-ray players, the new model allows owners of advanced A/V receivers to add Blu-ray capability to their system and enjoy high definition video and audio. It will output an HD audio bit-stream to a connected receiver via HDMI. Once this signal is accepted in the receiver, it can then be decoded into its native format including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio.
